Priority was laid on higher education, since vocational training and corresponding placements were found not adequate. We realized that many of our inmates were bright and excellent in their studies. The best path for their rehabilitation is to provide them with opportunity for higher education which will enable them to reach the higher levels of the society by themselves. It was under this milieu Santhigiri College was started in 2002, with the objective that higher education and development of skills, knowledge and attitudes will play an integral role in the shaping of our target group and the present society at large.
